My favorite thing about being a dance teacher at the Brodhead Dance Academy is being able to share my love for dance with others.  It’s very special to me that I am able to teach for the studio that introduced me to my passion!

What age did you first start dancing? I started dancing at the age of five at the Brodhead Dance Academy. Miss DeAnne Boegli was my first teacher. I have so many memories dancing every year with my classmates all the way up until graduation. I love dancing many different styles, but modern and hip hop are my favorites. It has always pushed me to use my creativity and expression while practicing and performing.

Where did you receive your training and/or what degrees/certificates do you have? I am trained in ballet, jazz, modern, hip-hop, and pointe.  After thirteen years of training with Brodhead Dance Academy, I began training at the UW-Milwaukee Peck School of the Arts in ballet, modern, jazz, and African dance.  I’m certified in ballet, jazz, and tap through Dance Masters of Wisconsin.  I have also had the privilege to choreograph for the “Guys & Dolls,” “Octave Above,” and “BHS Express” show choirs in Brodhead and Milton, Wisconsin.

What words of advice do you have for our young dancers? Work your hardest! The lessons you learn from the use of teamwork, determination, and expression will be carried with you for the rest of your life. Most importantly, remember why you love to dance and enjoy every moment of it!

Tell me about you in a few sentences. When I’m not dancing, I’m busy studying nursing  at Edgewood College, working as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and working as a waitress.  Life is always busy, but dance is what brings me home.
